The all new EpicWing V2 is a strong evolution of its popular predecessor. Derived from the sensational V1 platform this update gives riders of all levels a solid, rigid, high performance wing that will excite everyone.
The EpicWing V2 is available in 3, 4 and 5 meter sizes. The V2 model has a power increase compared to the original model, so there was no need for larger sizes.
With the rigid and powerful frame, the V2 has smooth and consistent power delivery that will have you doing tricks you never thought possible.
Two long, stiff grab handles on the centre strut remain in this edition, providing reliable grip. This enables easy hand movement up and down the strut while always maintaining control. This flexibility provides great mobility, whatever riding style you’re using. The soft handle in the mid strut area will make water starts even easier and also help you for some new tricks.
A new edition to the EpicWing V2 are the double windows on either side increasing visibility and safety. Additional “V” shaped handles cross from the strut end to the leading edge providing stance and grip variety as the rider moves the wing. There is also a smaller, rigid grab handle on the leading edge to hold the wing while surfing or carrying it during setup. This handle has a neoprene base to prevent hand abrasion. Scuff pads are used to protect vulnerable areas and neoprene covers protect the large volume valve. We’ve taken great pride in the amount of well thought out details in the development of the EpicWing V2. The construction and overall build can withstand even the most aggressive rider demand. Rigging is quick and easy with our large diameter inflate/deflate valves on the leading edge and strut. For significant rigidity improvement, high volume inflate/deflate valves are on the leading edge and strut enabling independent inflation control between the strut and leading edge. When your session is done, take advantage of the large deflate valve on the strut for a more efficient pack down.
With the power of the EpicWing V2, one pump of the wing is all it takes to get on plane with your favorite foil board. The frame and rigidity of the wing provide superb balance resulting in amazing power delivery and a smooth and natural feel when depowered. To tap into additional performance characteristics, use the additional inflate valve to increase the PSI on the strut. This tension creates an even stiffer frame adding a more lively and aggressive ride.
The new shape of the wing provides a stable and very smooth ride in both underpowered and overpowered conditions. The semi medium aspect wing provides low end grunt and better upwind capability while keeping the tips out of the water. You’ll still love the hang time and pop this wing delivers – up to an 8% improvement on the earlier model. So if you are into freestyle and jumping then the EPICWING V2 is what you are looking for.
If you had the chance to try or own an EpicWing V1, you’ll absolutely love the EpicWing V2. It is perfectly designed to maximize your foil sessions, but is versatile enough to be ridden with a SUP, surfboard, skateboard or hit the snow with a snowboard or skis. It’s so easy to maneuver, that jibes and tacks are simply effortless. No matter if you want to freestyle, just cruise or go head to head with the surf, the EpicWing V2 is comfortable and minimizes arm fatigue in any condition. It’s absolutely perfect for any condition and riding level, whether you’re just starting out, charging waves or nailing that freestyle trick. But it’s best forte is FREESTYLE and JUMPS.
If you’re a dedicated surf enthusiast then check the EpicWave Wing (2.8, 4.2 and 5.5-meter sizes). This wing is a surf specific design and finely turned to optimize performance in the waves because of it’s wide shape compare to the EPICWING V2 and because of that it is also a great wing for “beginners” because it is so stable.
For light wind solutions, please look into the GHOST wing. It’s designed from the ground up to perform efficiently in light winds. There are two versions, the GHOST “X” uses 90% of X-ply material for the full canopy which gives you a clear view like what Windsurfing race sails use, and the normal GHOST which is finished with the traditional light canopy material and has no windows reducing weight.
The wing bag comes with a few different packing options. You can use it as a small compact back pack for short storage periods (not recommended for long periods due to creases in the window panels) or you can extend the bag so the windows can be rolled opposed to folded (greatly increasing the longevity of your wing). Thirdly, keep the strut inflated by expanding the bag further by opening the mesh compartment which Dimitri recommends if you have space in your car. This way you’ll be even better prepared for your next session.
The EpicWing V2 comes with the bag, wrist leash (with swivel), waist belt (to attach your board and wrist leash if you want) and harness lines.
