* What are the benefits of going on a 'standard' Kiting holiday?
- I feel by far and away the trip is way better than a standard holiday because you are there with a group of readymade friends all equally as motivated to kite. They push each other to try new things with the influence of my coaching. My main goal is to provide structured. safe coaching so that you know when it’s time to ride and when it’s time to sit back and relax! You just have to try it as our only goal is to ensure you have a phenomenal time and take your kitesurfing to the next level.
HONEYMOON -
MARC AND SARAH ROWLEY
* Hey Marc, so you ended up in Brazil, why was that top of your list?
- Because of warm constant winds and sunshine so we only needed to pack shorts and rashies for kiting! We looked at many other beautiful spots around the world including Ing Hatteras but were worried that Dimitri from Epic kites would appear at appropriate times (he usually does), but in the, and it kept coming back to Brazil: guaranteed winds, flat water lagoons and downwinders in the waves.
* And it was as expected
- Yeah, amazing. 57m kites every day and the food is cheap.
* What was the ratio of kiting vs. other appropriate honeymoon activities?!
- Errm. just kiting as both of us are extremely serious wmd addicts and besides that there really is not that much touristy things to do in the northeast of Brazil.
* We were so worn out from so much kiting to do any other activities! Were other people out there impressed that you were combining newly-wed life and kiting, any funny comments?
- I don't think many people would have believed us if wc had said it was our honeymoon. Whilst there we met up with several good friends from both the UK and Brazil...
It's always nice to have a cup of tea while discussing the weather, before another long day of downwinders.
Friends back home found it amusing when I mentioned on FB that I knew it was a great honeymoon because every muscle was aching and I was stiff every morning'
* Any rows over who got to take which kite?!
- Haha. not really, wc took our own quivers of both wave and freestyle kites (Renegades and Screamers) plus surfboards and TTs. We kept mixing it up with a few days flat water then a few days of waves.- All down winders.
* And, just checking, you are still married?
- Just. When we arrived home we then had a week at the British Wavemasters In which I won the Seniors and Sarah came second in the Ladies, then I flew off to the US for the Epic Kites dealers week... which then turned in to two weeks courtesy of Hurricane Sandy- It's only just returning back to normal here.
